At 7am, a co-worker gave my kid an almond Snickers & a Snapple. I know there will also be cupcakes, and goodie bags made by said co-worker.
This year’s theme is Tsunamis. Gotta love working in Emergency Management. Maybe they’ll show pics of the Chilean volcano eruption too. A couple years ago they had the kids find all the volcanoes here in WA. For about 3 months after, my daughter kept asking when Mt. Rainier was going to “blow up”.
Anyone else have their kids with them today?

No, sadly. I have my car at the dealership for the 20k maintenance :( I have an orphaned loaner with me today.

I don’t have kids, but I’m volunteering to help entertain the ones that are bringing them today. I get to man the flight simulator station!

Flight Sim station!? And here I thought letting her hit the lights and sirens on the trucks was cool.

I wasn’t aware of this, and I wouldn’t bring my kids to work for a day. Not very exciting watching a bunch of nerdy guys writing Java programs...

No but it is also that day at my job. I totally blanked out and when I walked in and headed to the elevator I thought I went to the wrong building bc there was a swarm of about 15 kids running around. *sigh* Computers + HIPAA + Kids = something’s gonna go wrong

I’ve made her do IT work here. She’s also helped clean up equipment too.

Oh oh! Organize printer relay races!
Print a multi-page document and ask them to fetch it, one page at a time!
Unfortunately, thats the most fun thing you can do at my office.
That and stare at various 80” screens and indulge in a variety of creamers with crap coffee.

Cool! The question about Rainer is valid. I have family in Buckley and Puyallup. That thing starts rumbling and you need to get out pronto.
My boy will be old enough next year. The company has a pretty good program that includes a little time in the simulators and our flight attendant training area.

You mean "debugging" Java programs... ;)
As a software developer myself, I won't bring my kids to a boring office and also I work from home few days a week, so it's like I bring the office to my kids.

No, but I really really want a doge!
